Replacing MSI Motherboard with ABIT

Replacing an MSI 865pe neo2 MB with an Abit IC7-G MAX II.

Both boards have similar components like Intel ICH5R Southbridge. Main difference between them is the Northbrige chipset (ABIT uses 875p). Been a while since I swapped out MB's so loooking for suggestions on how best to handle the swap, things to look out for, etc. Especially concerned with Windows (might have to reinstall?) and any potential bios issues - not sure if ABIT has same bios as MSI. Thanks for any suggestions.

Rest of system includes:

WD 75 raptor HD's (X2) in RAID 0
Corsair valueselect ram 512 X2
Gigabyte X800-XT AGP vid card
Intel Pentium 4 3.0c (socket 478)
Antec 480 PSU
Windows XP (service pack 2)

For you to have a stable computer after the mobo change, I would recommend a clean install of Windows.

Just last week, I replaced a MSI board with a VIA chipset, with another MSI board which was another model but with a VIA chipset also, and I didnt so a clean install and now I have a lot of problems.

No matter which browser I have running, it will crash while I am online. And I have other problems with some programs.

I am running 2000 PRO

Good Luck
