Replacing Macbook Pro backlighting

I noticed the left side of the screen of my 2007 Macbook Pro is dimmer than the right side. It's very evident with a plain white background with the brightness set very low. How common is it to replace the backlighting on a Macbook Pro?
 
Sounds like backlight bleeding. Replacing the LCD on a Macbook Pro shouldn't be impossible, iFixit might have some guides.
