replacing laptop screen?

i have a few yr old inspiron 6000 - it's nice for what we use it for - email, general net surfing. but the screen has horizontal lines from, i imagine, the kids sitting on it when we're not looking.

i can sometimes get rid of the lines by twisting the screen a little.. but they always come back.

is it possible/feasible to replace the lcd if i found another 6000 screen?

You sure can. Screens seem to go for ~$175 on ebay.

check out ScreenTek. just google their name and see what they have to offer. they specialize in repairing or replacing broken laptop screens.
