Replacing fan in Antec PSU

I want to replace that freaking noisy fan in my Antec PSU, but...2 questions first

#1) Will 24CFM be enough, or should I go for a 39CFM fan (it's a 400w PSU), or even the ultimate.....39CFM fan on a POT 🙂

#2) I am aware that I will void my warranty (on the PSU), but what does that warranty cover? Just the PSU, or would it cover any connected devices damaged due to PSU failure?

BTW, I also know that when I do it not to touch anything or else I'll kill myself (to put it blunt).

depends on your case cooling you have now..........if you have enough air moveing in the case then i would think you 30cfm or something in that order would work........

warrantty usually covers either the replacement or fixing of the powersupply should it fail in the warrantty period.

My case temps right now are ~24-26*c, so there is a fair amount of airflow. The PSU fan won't be needed for cooling the system, but is rather just for cooling the PSU. I know that the air coming out of my PSU is hot, even with the noisy fan.

As far as the warranty goes, I know it would cover the PSU itself, but what about connected equipment. I'm not too terribly concerned about the PSU itself, but more connected equipment that could be fried by a faulty PSU.

I have just replaced my 400w psu fan about 1 hour ago and it does make a great difference in noise.
I followed this guide ocmodshop and I highly recommend doing it. It is very easy to do.

I replaced the fan with this one and it is extremely quite = quitepc.com
it is a UK company so you may aswell get the Panaflos as they are just as good.

Yeah I talked to Snowpunk about his article, and we are uncertain however as to if I would need a H1A or a L1A to keep the PSU cool. I decided I'm going to go with a H1A just because it would be safer.

<< that would be just as loud as the current one >>

I currently have 4 H1A's in my system + 2 "unknown" Antec fans (+ PSU fan)....the H1A's are loud, but the PSU fan is still louder. Maybe I will go with the L1A's (I'm replacing the Antec fans with L1A's as well). That would give me 3 L1A's in the back always on & 3 H1A's in the front set to turn on/off as needed.
