Panasonic recommends replacing the foil on an electric razor every year and the blades every 2 years.
I would think replacing the blades more often makes more sense.
Why EVER replace the foil if is not damaged?

I looked at the prices of new foils and blades and they are each half the price of the shaver.

The cutting action is derived from the blades rubbing against the foil. Both wear out eventually and in the case of the foil, it gets thinner and thinner and thinner...

in my braun it's a single piece.

I replaced it just once after 10 years or something.

I have a Braun and I think its been getting used for about 10 years now, still havent replaced the blades or foil.
BUT, somehow I lost the freaking charge cable, and its gonna cost sixty bucks to replace it.
