Replacing Credit card terminals

We have a small non profit that runs out of 2 offices. We currently use Elevon merchant services as our payment processing solution. We have 2 Synergy 2 units that have been completely paid off. With the chip and pin change coming in october we need to change the terminals but I was thinking of going a complete different route and maybe trying to implement a non terminal type processing like stripe online payment processing or something similar. Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

I know there are things we can hook up to the computer or run through tablets, thats why I chose this subforum.

I've had good experiences with Square. Only downfall is being IOS only, but it's easy to get your business going with it. If you have a system already that just takes in a credit card number, then you can't really beat the USB swipers. But it sounds like me you need a processor involved, so if that's the case your only option really is to start cross-shopping vendors with your different needs.
 
yeah some like stripe process as well but there is no card swipe support which I think I need.
