just bought the Audigy2 sound card. seems like the speaker doesn't work good with the new card.

want to change the speaker with a limited budget.

creative claimed that Inspire 5.1 5200 work the best with Audigy 2 (in its class)

it has 75watt(creative.com), but doing the math. 6watt per channel = 30watt, 17watt subwoofer ==47watts...

i wonder how is this speaker compare to the one i am using.

I am also looking for THX certified speaker, but i don't think with limited budget can fulfill my need.

i don't need 400watt speaker system. just in a small bedroom

OR don't bother creative and get something else?

please gimme advices

thanks

or Logitech Z640

I like the wired remote, which i don't have to reach for volumn. (although i have the volumn control on the keyboard :))

Z640's volumn is on the centre channel, rite?

Creative Labs Inspire 5300 5.1
Good Sound
Cheap
Perfect for smaller rooms, like yours, and mine.
Well coupled with an Audigy card.
If you want to take use of the full capibility of the Audigy2, then get the Creative6.1 speakers, not hugely expensive, basically the 5300 with extra speaker.
Alot of people critisis creative speakers for being not powerful enough, but IMO they are perfect for small rooms.
The 5300 and the 6.1 sets, both have wired remotes, with balance contols on them as well.

oh well, just bought the Logitech Z560 400watt THX certified speaker.

hmm... the speaker is excellent.

but it is kinda too loud. For now, i only connect the 2 front speakers and its already shaking the room.

the bass is good but not as good as my HIFI system tough.

I wonder if the Z640 can do the similar job in a small room.

Still don't know what a THX certified speaker can do.

you might want to stick with the FPS2000.

its better then the inspire 5.1 if you're talking about power and quality. as far as i know, the 5300 was an analog connection, while the FPS2000 utilizes a digital connection and digital din. my brother has the 5300 and i have the FPS2000, imo, the fps has more solidness and power, but its up to you.

it might not be the speakers or the card. and upgrading to the inspire might not be very much of an improvement.
