Replacing chipset fan - ASUS SLI

I just received a reengineered fan for the chipset on my ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe. I was wondering if anyone has replaced theirs witht he replacement one from ASUS and can offer some pointers. What do I need to use to remove the old thermal compund? Anything else I need to make sure I do so things work properly?

Any help would be much appreciated, since ASUS sent me jsut the fan with no documentation whatsoever.
