I have 5 buldging and leaking caps. 3 of them are 1000uf 10v and 1 x 470uf 16v and 1x 330uf 16v. I went to radio shak and they had the uf number but were 35v, can I use theese? Can I use any other sizes to replace them with?

If not where can I get caps on a saterday?

That will be fine (Yes, I have diplomas from RCA technical institutes in electronics & TV repair/servicing).

Sometimes the higher voltage results in a larger form factor which can be a problem fitting the replacement into the available space/circuit board connection points. As always, be careful to not overheat (and hence damage) the new component during its installation. Also, be careful as heat (unsoldering & resoldering) can damage the circuit board thru delamination.

Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply. So if I understand you correctly I can use an voltage as long as I get the uf correct?

Any voltage that is the same or higher than the originals will work. uf try to keep the same, usually doesn't hurt if you go higher on power supply circuits. One other thing you need to check. Look on the originals for the temperature rating. If the original are 105C don't replace them with 85C versions as they will not last long.

If you want to order them , you can get them from mouser for about $10 shipped.

The higher voltage is fine, but Radio Shack caps will likely fail in a year since they're general purpose caps not made for switching power supply circuits. You should instead use caps with low ESR, such as Panasonic FM, Chemicon KZE, Sanyo WG, Rubycon MBZ or MCZ, or Nichicon HM, HN, or HZ. Mouser, Digikey, and BDent carry them, but most Ebay dealers sell counterfeit versions.
