Replacing/buying a notebook battery

So I just wanted to know what the general opinion is towards battery replacements...would you trust 3rd parties enough to buy a "compatible" battery, or are you comfortable buying a prepackaged OEM battery off an authorized reseller, or do you draw the line at OEM direct?

If you have done so, step in and share your experiences? Would you mind to share the following items in your replies?

1. Make & model
2. Laptop cost
3. Laptop age
4. Battery price OEM
5. Did you buy OEM or not?

Bought one from ebay.

1. HP DV5250US
2. $200
3. 2 years
4. $100
5. Nope, got one off ebay for $40, works perfectly, gives me ~2.5 hours for a 6C battery on a 15.4" laptop.

Sorry... But after all the battery recalls that pointed back to suppliers of the cells.... I tend to place more faith in the actual battery from my Laptop OEM to be "safe" or "safer" than generic. I tend to think that after the last few years of recalls and fires, that the major OEM's have their suppliers straightened out.
