Long story, but the only thing left to try and fix the malfunctioning anti-lock brakes in my car is to replace the sensors, despite the fact the test good.
Does anyone have any idea what ballpark figure it would cost?
Ford Explorer 1999
Thanks
...uh if they test okay then why replace them? Are you sure the ABS control unit or whatever they use is functioning correctly? ABS sensors are just wheel speed sensors right? Maybe they're the incorrect distance from the teeth?

The problem is that very occasionaly the abs seems to come on when I am braking. It usually happens just as I am stopping, and always seems to happen just as I stop on the uphill incline of my drive way. A couple of times it has come on while I am driving.
My mechanic and Ford can't figure out the problem.
I figured if it was inexpensive to just replace I might give it a shot.
I saw online the sensor is 18.00 dollars though I don't know how many the car has. And it looks very, very simple to replace, so I thought, what the heck, give it a shot.
