Replacing an old Dell PSU

Obviously, these aren't put on newer PSU's today. Can it be adapted? Or do I need to find a replacement that matches up?

You could buy a adapter shown in the link below. That will allow you use any current 20-pin ATX power supply in the system. It would make it more easy to replace down the road. If it would go bad again for any reason. Newegg don't seem to carry these on there website at all.

PC Power and Cooling use to make a couple of Silencer power supplies that were made specifically for older Dell computers. I think they are end of life now but you may want to check around to see if you can still buy one.

You're probably better off buying the adapter that HalfCrazy posted. It'd probably be cheaper and easier than trying to hunt down one of those Silencers.
 
Do you have the model of the Dell? I ask because older Dells that used that connector also used a Proprietary PSU and the connectors were the same but the pinout was different and if you plug a standard ATX Power Supply into the board you will fry the board and maybe the PSU Also

It's a Dell Dimension XPS R400
 
That is one of the Dells that uses a non-standard ATX Connector so you will have to find another Dell brand PSU for that computer
