Hi,
I got yesterday a boxed X2-3800. It has Manchester core.

I am using currently a SD 3700 (@ 2.75), DFI board with 623 bios.

Can I just remove the SD and plug the X2? Do I have to uninstall any AMD drivers and install new ones?

Are there any known problems by doing that? I read some threads were people had gameplay issues, lower benchmarks, etc.

I will be happy if the X2 clocks to 2.6. I know the SD would be faster for gameplay, but I like also to have a system with more responsiveness while switching tasks.

I would have tried the more expensive X2 models, but they are not worth the price difference imo.

Should be able to just swap it out, nothing major. Make sure to install the X2 driver from AMD's website, and if you still exerience any game issues, the microsoft hotfix should do the trick. I have had no problems with mine however, even before installing the X2 drivers and haven't needed the microsoft hotfix either.
