replacing a laptop screen question

after repeated warnings to the wife that laying the laptop on the floor was not a good idea, the kids crunched the LCD.

So, i'm looking to replace the screen.

my question is can I get any WXGA 14.1" lcd and switch it out, or does it have to come from the exact same model laptop?
