Replacing a Laptop Screen, I need Advice

I have a Fujitsu S 6120 Centrino Laptop. I really like the thing, but I got pissed today at a poker game and threw a pen at the screen. well it cracked and there are white and colored lines on like half the screen. I assume I need a new screen. any advice on this? I called fujitsu and they said send it to them and they'll fix it for 750 bux. seems a little steep to me.

You could try finding a screen on ebay and doing it yourself. What's funny is that $750 is actually reasonable to replace a broken screen.

Agreed. Mobile displays are unfortunately very costly.

Is this the standard 13.3" XGA display available on the S6120?

I had the same thing happen to me when my ibook fell out of my locker, and hit me on the head. You can get a display for ANYTHING on ebay for 1-300$, plus a bit of shipping. Be warned, however: THIS VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY.
Oh, and if it makes you feel any better: Apple wanted a whopping 900$ to fix my laptop's LCD. Considering that an identical replacement would only be about 1200$ new at the time, that was pretty crazy.

yeah its the standard display. i found a place called lcds4less.com they seem to have decent prices (about 350 for my screen). anybody heard of them?
