Replacing a BIOS chip , any advice ?

Hi ,

My Lan Party PRO875 boards BIOS are done for , so ive just received a new chip .

Ive never replaced BIOS before , and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to go about it ?

I was going to just take out the CMOS battery and then take out the old chip and put in the new one , then put the battery in Reset CMOS jumper , and try it .

Would this be the right way to do it , or do i need to do anything else ?😕

That's the way to do it, although there is no reason to use the "reset CMOS jumper", since the CMOS that's on the chip when you install it hasn't been messed with by you yet.😉

I would select "Load Optomised Defaults" on first boot up, re-boot and then select your known custom settings, then re-boot into OS.
