Replacing 8RDA+ capacitors

adeno

Senior member
I've noticed a few leaky capacitors on my 8RDA+.. quite possibly the reason why the board won't work anymore. Anyways, I've checked the capacitors and they are 10v 2200uF (unless I read incorrectly). Anyone know a good place to get replacements?

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Hmmm... Radio Shack? or from some other boards that are sitting in your closet... you can always solder on capacitors that are rated higher... or you can just RMA the board if its still covered.

Grr. I thought Abit and Epox (two of the most notorious leaking/exploding capacitor companies back in the Pentium 2 days) got their acts cleaned up since then. Of Epox boards, I myself owned an 8KHA+, 8K5A2+ and an 8RDA+ without problem. But it seems they're not perfect.

As said above - get an RMA. Exploding capacitors should not happen on a newer motherboard.
