About 6 months ago I built my computer and I bought some nice RAM with the intent of overclocking. I bought this for about $210 ....

Well, I haven't got around to overclocking and I really don't have a strong desire to. So I was thinking of getting some 2GB of the cheap stuff and selling the 1GB for maybe about $150, keeping my overall loss under $50. The question is, what is some good, cheap 2GB value RAM that will serve me well. On a side note, will the higher latencies affect my performance at all? Maybe only a couple of frames per second in games?

Kingston, Crucial, Corsair, Mushkin, Patriot, and GEIL are all well-respected brands. As for the performance hit, it will be minimal, only a couple percent in most situations.

As far as Value RAM goes, get Corsair ValueSelect or Crucial Value. I wouldn't trust Kingston or GeIL.

nonsense geil is rock solid, i and many others have attested to that.

get 2x gigs of geil value. corsair is overpriced.
