Due to the great suggestions here (thanks guys!), I've set my sights on this combo as an "emergency replacement" for my current motherboard and PSU that failed on me:

MSI KM2M Motherboard
Fortron 300W PSU

At first I was thinking that 300W would be inadequate, but after reading some of the reviews of the Fortron PSU, I changed my mind. I'm not running a very demanding setup and it sounds like the Fortron model is well-built.

Any thoughts before I place the order? I know the first thought for some of ya'll will be "wait, why go with an older motherboard?" :D I agree that an upgrade wouldn't be too expensive, but I'm a student and I don't have a lot of cash. (I chose the MSI board because it will allow me to keep my current 512MB of SDRAM - DDR DRAM isn't too cheap nowadays and I want to get everything running again as quickly as possible)

Yes, besides the PSU and mobo, all my other components should be working:

1GHz Athlon Thunderbird
512MB PC133 SDRAM (2x256MB)
ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder
Various drives (HD, FD, CD)
Minimal USB peripherals (2 at max)
