so of course mine have died a 3rd time now. i'm done sending it back to get fixed for ~120.

can someone recommend a 5.1 receiver and amp i can use for the existing sub enclosure?
i want to keep using the klipsch satellites and sub if possible. or do i need to get a new sub entirely?

both times i sent the sub in, they lasted ~6 mos after getting them back. i have even had elliot (guy on ebay and klipsch forums) repair them after the 2nd one died, and that one lasted almost ~8 mos.

ouch, what are you doing to your ultra? My subwoofer died once after 4~ years, got it replaced a year or two ago, and it's still going strong.

:( Hope you find a replacement

Uh I'd say buy logitech parts off ebay and just swap in the satellites. Logitech subs are rather tight and powerful better than the klipsch sub anyways. Otherwise you can get a 5 channel receiver and a powered sub or a 7 channel sub with programmable rear channels and use one of those to power the klipsch... you would need to rewire the sub tho.

I disagree. Logitech subs are louder (but much muddier sound) than Klipsch subs.

Ehh... maybe... I have a rewired 10" logitech that I drive with my receiver and it is not boomy at all, sounds very tight to me. If I turn it all the way up, it feels like it'll blow my desk up. Maybe the stock receiver has a higher low pass filter though. I have mine set at 80hz.

Are you sure the amp is bad? If it still works, then you should be able to get some adapters to convert your 3.5mm connections to an RCA connection and then plug it into the subwoofer out jack on pretty much any 5.1 receiver.

yea im pretty sure it's the amp, it's been the amp the last 3x as its faulty by design and overheats. right now when i turn them on i get a high pitched whining sound for a good 1-2 hours before i can use it, it's almost like it needs to "warm up"

the first 2-3x the sub would just cut out after "x" amount of time of use which i guess is common on the klipsch forums.
