Replacement Motherboard for Q6600

I messed up my Asus P5 N32-E Motherboard. When I applied my new heatsink the CPU moved and I didn't know it so when I tightened it down I bent the socket pins BAD! I tried to recover them, but it doesn't look possible. So now I need to find a replacement. I'd like to get the same or similar board so that I don't have to re-install, but that's not looking like an option. Not many selling these used. So my question...can you recommend me an okay board for the Q6600. No I'm not planning on SLI.

thanks in advance, -JC

I had an e8400 system running on an Abit board that crapped out on me... Instead of replace the board fort $ 100, I said f that and I sold the parts for enough that I was able to get a x6, mobo, and ram for a net expense of $180.
The idea was that after spending $ 100 I had gained nothing. Through the power of ebay I was able to oil off a decent upgrade on the cheap.

i'm sure you mean DDR2. and dual nics? are you load balancing? imo, you're not gonna find a "cheap" replacement board with that requirement.

you should try what superccs did and see if you can get a cheap amd system going. q6600 was great for its time, but there's much nicer options now.

sep there is lots of motherboards like yours, on ebay.
Just extend your search to Europe too.
Ebay.co.uk ebay.fr & ebay.de

Lots of boards to keep the fine Q6600 in operation.

Yes DDR2 & Dual Nics. I understand the Dual Nics will be hard to get so I guess I can drop that for now.

When I get home I'll check out the other Ebays.

Thanks guys....please keep the advise coming it's all good!

Well, I must say, I will not part with my DQ6 boards for a cheap price....The best money I ever spent.

I'd get this P45 board for $61 AR

BIOSTAR TP45E Combo 6.X LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

The reviews are mostly good except for 2. One guy went through 5 boards and the other was complaining about voltages though it worked fine. Kind of an odd skew considering only like 7 reviews are there. I've had a few Biostar boards and they all worked fine for me.

I currenty have a Biostar TSeries TP45 HP board, earlier model probably better, and it runs my q9550 up to 480fsb. I'm sure your q6600 will do 3.5 with 400fsb if you have decent cooling.

I bet that that we failed to turn an ASUS funboy in to a Gigabyte one ...
Nice turn out Sep , I am happy for you.

I've had serval Gigabyte boards in the past and have been satisfied. Thanks Kiriakos.

Whatever you do avoid the nForce 775 boards like AIDS the chipsets will melt your neighborhood icecream man.
