Replacement Mobo

I need to replace the mobo on my 2008 build. What would you recommend?

I do have a limited budget but i could get a cpu ram and video cards if they are more likely upgradable in 12 months. I was looking at getting an NF980 and phen 955 but it looks like there is more support for crossfire using an AMD processor.

Thoughts, suggestions, etc?

Would it have been better to post this in the CPUs overclocking forum?
