I have given up hope on getting a new graphics card in hopes getting one that can run openGL 3.3 or better.
i do not want a new machine. I'm hoping that if i get a new motherboard it'll have some inter graded graphics that would have open gl 3.3 or better to run. It's for gaming. So is there a mobo i can put in this machine that would be compatible, just want open GL and it to be for windows 7. Oh wise internet wizards, is there hope?

I got some current upgrades for my machine, if they are not compatible I can replace them, just letting you all know so mabye it can help:

got a new power suply, works perfectly

Easier & cheaper to just add a $50 video card to your machine.

I tried a 610 and 730, both never really worked. sorry if i'm skeptical, but how do you know that'll work? And no, everyone who built this machine is not aviable to speak with, so it's guesswork only for me. and in any case, i'm really really really 100% positively intrested in getting a new motherboard because this machine HATES graphics cards.

Are you going into the bios and changing the Primary video adapter when using these video cards?

Bahhh I just spent a good while looking for boards with DDR3 for you because I assumed an OEM system with AM3 processor would use DDR3 instead of DDR2. heh

But another reason is most AM2/AM2+ DDR2 boards from OEM systems that would have been easy replacement seem to be using electrolytic caps around the CPU/VRM. A lot of the boards from this era are prone to the failing electrolytic caps. e.g. the MCP61PM-HM/GM, GeForce 6150

So I'm going to stick with the boards I found and just recommend you upgrade the RAM, too. For OpenGL v3.3+ support on IGP (for AMD CPU), you'd need Radeon 3xxx or higher IGP. e.g. AMD 760, 780, 785, and higher (all prices include shipping).

Lenovo M3A780M AM3 Motherboard w/Phenom X2 2.8GHz - $39.50

HP M2N68-LA AM3 Motherboard (same NVIDIA chipset) - $30

HP Alpinia GL8 AMD 760G AM3 (with I/O shield) - $38

HP MCP780V OAK ROW AM3 (with I/O shield and CPU) - $30

Dell MA785R 785G AM3 (from Inspiron 570) - $30

Note about the Dell board: looks to be using the Dell 5-pin CPU fan header which is non-standard but there are adapters you can buy on Ebay or just mod the fan lead yourself.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about IGP. Just get a suitable replacement mobo it doesn't have to be eMachines. You should have a valid product key for Windows 7 stuck on the machine somewhere, you can just use that to re-activate if needed. Then get a cheap graphics card like one of these, the least of which would be a full 2.5x faster than Radeon 3200/3300/4200 IGP:

Radeon HD 6450 OEM - $20 (a.k.a. HD 7470 and 8490)

Radeon HD 7570 OEM - $25 (prob. 2.5x faster than 6450)

I would get a new computer and if necessary, carry over the storage device containing the operating system. Windows 7 loses activated status but maintains normal functionality apart from messages reminding activation.

Edit: I forgot to mention that Ebay is a dumping ground for Intel Sandy Bridge computers: Core i7-2600 and Xeon E3-1245.

The activation and non-genuine notification frequency has been amped up to be a real PITA.
