Hey guys, I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and I let my little brother borrow it for a while while he went out of town. (BAD IDEA!) When he got back, he had lost two keys off the keyboard. I have to use this laptop for school next semester, and I'm missing keys, haha. Anyone know where I can find new ones?

Also, my DVD-Rom seems to be broken. It'll occasionally work, after you take the CD or DVD out and put it back in repeatedly. Can I get this fixed?

I know that on a Fujutsu i think i had to order a whole new keyboard couldn't just replace the keys.. You should ask a dell tech rep about it.

if its under warranty u can call dell and have them send a replacement keyboard, very easy to replace

the dvd i'm not sure about, they might have you send the whole system back, which would be a pain...but you can always hope and tell them that u ened the system asap and if they could just send u the new dvd drive and you send the defect on back...

from the dell support forums for inspirons, subcategory keyboards/input devices:

faq # 10
How do I replace a single lost keyboard key?
Dell only sells entire keyboards as replacements. If you need only a single or few keys, you should look locally for a computer store that would have these in stock. An idea would be to look for a computer repair shop.
