Replacement for Retail AMD CPU Fan

My CPU fan seems to be slowing down/dying recently. I currently have a retail heatsink and fan. I would like to replace the fan and was wondering if anyone had any advice on a good CPU fan. Thanks.
 
I take it youre not overclocking?

a lot of people automatically suggest things like a SLK900, which is a superb heatsink but very probably far more expensive and troublesome than necessary if your not cranking the speeds up.

I can reccomend my Taisol GCK670 hsf, got good temps on my 1600+ and 2400+, and is cheap, easy to install and fairly quiet.

I probably pimp this hsf roundup every time i post in the cooling forum, its kind of huge though so maybe best idea is to scan the column on the right for "0.65" and below [a bit higher should be fine, but no need when there's coolers cheap + quiet that are 0.65c/w or below] or just use to refer to when you pick a few options 🙂
 
The retail AMD heat sink takes a 60mm fan I believe, you can get a direct replacement or upsized fans with adapters from http://www.svc.com . Personally, I would use an 80mm fan with an 80 to 60mm adapter. Cooler and quieter at the same time...
Less than $6.50 shipped first class mail if you're not risk averse (no insurance, no real tracking on their FC shipping option)...

Also, if you wanted to bump up in cooling, KDcomputers.com has attractive prices on a couple of the copper-bottomed Taisols like Davegod mentioned. linkage, $9.95 isn't bad

If you did that, it would probably be a good idea to get some high-quality thermal grease such as one of the Arctic ones: thermal compounds I see one of the Taisols pictured with a phase-change thermal pad, but the model number seems to point to a Taisol that doesn't have a thermal patch (by Taisol's reckoning).
 
Well .. the one from SVC is looking good 🙂 ... I heard about a brand called Eumax somewhere in the hot deals section in this forum. You may want to check it out, I don't remember exactly the URL, but I think it comes from io combo
