Started getting random bsods on shutdown, startup, sleep and wakeup. I replaced the memory 4 1gb sticks of Crucial Balistica cas 4 with 2 2gb sticks of Corsair cas 5. It seemed to stop the problem and I thought I had the problem fixed. Yesterday after 4 days, I got a bsod on wakeup.

I guess the next thing to replace is the mobo. Have always worked with Asus products but the IP35 gets such good reviews, I'm thinking about switching.

Is there anything else that might be a better choice?

What if it's not the board? Did you do any research on the error reported by the BSOD? You could try analyzing the dump log to possibly identify the cause. I had an issue at work where installing one of our software clients on a business desktop that used a specific network adapter would result in a BSOD. By analyzing the dump log I isolated the fault to a specific .dll installed by the software client... updating that component of the client software resolved the issue. No hardware replacement required.

I'm not trying to rule out hardware as the cause in your case, but replacing hardware may not actually resolve the issue.
