I have a Dell Dimension 9100 (Pentium4 820D with 2Gigs of ram). My evga geforce 6800GS just died on me and I'm looking for a replacement. What do you guys recommend? I mainly play World of Warcraft on a 24 inch flatscreen (windowed mode). I do plan on buying a whole new computer in the near future but would like to buy something decent to keep my current system as a backup pc.

PCI Express is backwards compatible, so you'd be able to use any PCIe card.

Yup. And you have a 6pin power connector, too. I agree with the 8800 GT or 9600 GT recommendation.

Thanks, I didn't know this. This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I'm really glad I posted on this board before buying a new card.

Considering how old my computer is, would it be able to take advantage of an 8800GT? Or, should I just opt for a cheaper card. I'm willing to spend for a 8800GT but only if my computer can make use of it. Again, I'm upgrading from a 6800GS so any of these newer cards would be a major performance upgrade.

It doesn't. I just know the model like I know the back of my hand. ;)

I work with these kinds of systems every day.
