A few weeks ago, my video card started to die. When it finally bit the dust, I got a new one RMAed from ATI. I plugged it into the motherbord, it worked fine...for about two days. Then my computer woudln't even turn on. I thought it was a bad power supply, but was only half right. I went to install the new one, and the plug was fused to the motherboard ATX power connector! Holy carp!

Is it worth replacing the connector on the motherboard? It's a 3 yo Asus A7N8X Deluxe and a 400W Antec TruePower supply.

I would like to rescue the motherboard. Anyone know where to get a replacement ATX connector?

I would tend to think if the ATX power connector melted, the motherboard is most likely dead along with it. Regardless, you could probably just harvest an ATX power connector off and old motherboard?

Hmm... That's a pity... :(

It should probably work to replace it, but possibly your mobo is dead too... Let us know how it went! :)
