Replaced power supply now I have no video

I had an old 300w PS which I used to test my new 6600GT card, then I went out and bought a new 420w power supply installed in plugged eveything back in had a good post all the windows loaded up and it had the windows startup screen but when that was going into windows it was just black and thats it.

420w PS
Gigabyte 7DX-E
2200 XP
6600 GT Agp
Windows XP

And your video card still has its power cord hooked up like this, right? And your ATX12V cable is plugged in?

If so, then next question is whether your 420W unit is a good brand, or a sort of mediocre brand, or an all-out cheapie.

I don't see a connection for the ATX12v on the 7DX-E

Yeah, I thought of that afterwards, they don't have one. Sorry about that. The 6600GT might (speculation here) be overloading your mobo's ability to move 12-volt amperage, since it has only one 12V wire in the main 20-wire power cable. Can you try the card in a different system, and/or try a different card in this system, and see what works?

I took it all apart did the ol wiggle the wires and check for loose connections plugged it all back in and she started. Getting new mobo and a P4 tomorrow
