I replaced an LCD in an older 13" Macbook Pro. It's the aluminum with the removable battery and rounded edges (A1278) if that matters.

So I took it apart, swapped the bad LCD, and put everything back together. Now the laptop boots, shows a load bar which progresses fully and then it has the grey apple with the spinner and that just spins. I've left it sitting for about a half hour but it just continues to spin.

Before I take it all apart again, is this suggestive of a hardware or software issue? Is the OS just flipping out at a different make of LCD? Everything seems to be working properly other than it hanging at the load screen.

Do I just need to reinstall the OS?
