I have this Dell Inspiron One 2305 that I just got, love these systems.

It was left in the snow, I managed to fully get all the water cleaned out and dried up before turning in on. Problem was, my cats... One of them knocked it over in the night and busted a corner of it. Power button got damaged. Power button on this is kinda like a laptops.

The button itself has a little black plastic ring around the center, which is stationary. The black plastic ring pushes in, it is mostly broken off now on mine. Only about 1/4 of it remains, if I push it in, it gets stuck and I have to pull it back out manually (which is very difficult and I'm afraid to break it completely) or the system just shuts back off after a few seconds. Obviously I can't do this while the board is in the machine, hence I need a new power button.

Will attempt to link 3 pictures for necessary clarity.

The button is wrecked, I'd like to find another one, (preferably not by paying for an entire parts board just to get a button off it.) Ideally I'd like to find just the button somewhere, Digikey, Mouser, somewhere, and just get the button so I can solder this broken one off & solder in the good one, but I can't find this button and I have no idea where to look or what I'm even looking for, knowing what it looks like doesn't really help much unfortunately without knowing how to actually find it somewhere.

Anyone who actually knows where I can find one, you, friggin, rule. I'd really rather not spend 40 bucks for a junk board just to try and harvest the button... :/

Just as an update. I have looked through all of Digikey & Mouser for both tactile & momentary switches, over 10000 parts and not one is the same as what I need.

Thanks LTC8K6, appreciate the effort.

On this system, the power button is a little odd, the actual power button, is soldered directly onto the motherboard, very uncommon. The button on the shell pushes the actual button that is on the motherboard. I don't know where those power button boards come from, there isn't one on mine, just the power button directly on the mobo. I found that too and was kinda confused what it actually must be from, or if it was in a later revision or something. I did some more digging around and I just couldn't find that button anywhere, so I had to resort to getting a bad board just to get the power button from. I did find a seller that was willing to actually desolder the button and send me just that for $20 bucks though rather than the whole board so, somewhat of a win I suppose, so long as it actually works and I can do the swap successfully myself! Thankfully its not a tiny leg IC or something, hopefully I should be able to manage so long as the board pads don't burn off in a hot second on me, guess we'll see in the next couple days when I get the other button in.

(sorry for the crap links btw, I should just stop using photobucket for those rare occasions I need to link to a pic, never seems to work good, think I'll try imgur next time.)
