I think its time to get a faster processor. I'm usung an Asus p4t533c motherboard so I know that RDRAM and the old CPU makes it silly to upgrade the processor. p 2.2mhz
I guess i'm looking for the modern day equivatlent of this board. Not the chepaest, but has been 100 reliable for a few years, so similar would be nice.
I have lots of stuff plugged into it, so I kinda need 3 IDE slots for my sound board, IDE drives, and tv tuner card.
I assume I'll need new memory, new case and power supply, (these have changed?) and anew CPU, but I'd prefer not to change anything else. Will all the rest still work? Basic AGP video card seems fine that I have, so hopefully i can still use that. Not sure what CPU I need but my laptops seems fast enough with a t2250 dual core.
Any tips or suggestions or advice? Asus Commando? Asus p5b? Others?
(should mention i have 4 IDE drives and a SATA drive, so need to accomodate them somehow, and I'm not an overclocker - I prefer stability and very quiet operating)
