Replace on board video card with my own

First time poster, longtime troll ;)

i have a compact presario and was wondering if i could buy a 6800gt and connect to my mother board?

any help is appreciated.

you mean lurker right? :p

check in your case. if you have a brown slot different from all the others above all the white pci slots, congrats you have a agp slot. go ahead and buy a agp card. I could make a recommendation but you gotta give me more info.
1. when was it bought
2. specs
3 what are your power supply amps(take off side of case and when checking for agp, look on sticker on big metal box on top left corner labeled power supply)
4. what games will you be playing?

If you have an AGP slot, then your good. If you do not, then you would have to get a PCI card, and these don't make it to 6600GT speeds. As the last poster said, checl inside you computer and look at the slots. If you have a "different" looking slot nearest the cpu, then that means you an an AGP slot and are good to go.
