Replace dual 7900gtx's with?

Ok, so here is the situation. I've just purchased the parts to build a new dedicated gaming rig to replace my many years old and very outdated old rig. The old one is still perfectly functional and I'm sure can serve duty as a general media / web surfing / light gaming pc. However, I see little sense in continuing to run dual 7900gtx's since they are so outdated, so loud, and I'm sure are drawing more power than is necessary for what the computer will now do.

Is there a single card that would be relatively inexpensive, quiet, and easy on power to serve the functions I will be relegating this rig to....while hopefully not taking a big hit to graphics processing ability?

The rest of the system is:
AMD FX-60
Asus A8N-SLi Premium
4 gigs...some kinda ram...wanna say Corsair (which isn't even being recognized i'm sure since it's still running Win XP).
600 watt Silverstone PSU

Don't really know what my budget is...I'm just hoping there's something for less than $100 since I just spent a pretty penny on my new machine.

Oh...and I will be hooking this up to a 32", 1360x768 LCD TV.

Overkill for an old dual core, but they're cheap enough and capable enough.

Any recommendation between the two? I tend to be an nVidia fanboy but the AMD is $10 cheaper after rebate and has a free game coupon.

The geforce 450 and the radeon 6750 are pretty gimped by today's standards. You can find cards that are a good 50% faster for a tiny bit more. I suggest a geforce 460 or a radeon 6850/6870. They can both be had for about $130-140 on sale.

His FX-60 is has about the same power as a Athlon64 X2 5000+. I had an X2 5200+ (Windsor) paired with an 8800 GTX and it bottlenecked that video card pretty severely. I didn't realize it until I built my Phenom II system, put the old card in it and the bottleneck was finally lifted from the 8800 GTX (which was then fine for my games for another year). Hence my recommendation of a cards such as the HD 5750 or GTS 450 - both which are faster than than the 8800 GTX. First hand experience has a little more validity than just assuming. You might as well spend no more money than necessary for an old secondary machine.

I'm kinda leaning towards what you are saying Leyawiin. The only point is to keep the computer functional for most purposes. I don't want to spend extra money on something that is not going to see its potential on my machine.
