Replace D90, which Nikon?

I need to replace a D90 at work. I'd like to get something new that is comparable to the D90 when it cam out. Which Camera should I be looking at?

Comparable would be the D7100 or the (very new) D7200.

How do I determine what size lens filter screws on the end? Just want a clear filter for protection.

Great body, and that's a solid "kit" lens.

The guy who does the actual photography seemed pleased with it.
His D90 bit the dust. We may get it serviced (shutter hangs half way on every 2nd pic and lens is falling apart) but this should be a good unit.

If you do a search on sd's site that's about $15 cheaper than the normal $700 price tag.

As a comparison last month I bought a refurb D5300 with a single 18-50mm lens for $500.
