Replace C: drive on XP system

I have a new drive and I want to repalce my current C: drive and copy all my files from it to the new drive and make it the boot drive. Its a 160 gig Seagate. Ive tried using its setup software but it builds an 8 gig partition and then the remaining space for the 2nd partition. Then when it copies my current C drive its not fitting in the 8 gig partition.

Is there a better way to do this? I seem to remember using xcopy32 or something several years ago.

Yes, there is a better way. better than Ghost or DriveImage. DriveCopy is limited to 80 gigs. Go to Acronis and get TrueImage version 7. It is outstanding. Then use it to clone your C drive to the new drive. It will transfer everything perfectly - as it is, partitions, boot sector - etc. It can be downloaded for $49.99 (cheaper than Ghost) and it can be used for many things. The really nice thing it does is auto-burn a bootable CD so that you can do all this without usuing your installed OS. I did 5 drives this way and it has become a mainstay in my toolkit.
