I have the A710IS and it has god aweful flash recharge time. It's so slow that it is basically unusable. They A570IS looks to have a better flash recharge time according to steve's cam review. I can give up the 6x optical to pick up the flash recharge time and the DIGIC3 rather than the DIGIC2.

opinions?

I've got a 710 as well the flash recharge does take forever. I didn't think I would care too much when I bought it but it is reaaally long. The upgraded processor and flash time of the 570 would be a nice thing to have but giving up the zoom would hurt. I know I'm keeping my 710 for now and just dealing with the flash someday when they come out with a newer model I might think about changing things up.

For all intents and purposes, I am looking for a true replacement for my A80. I thought the A710 would be it, but i am just not pleased with it.

the digic 3 is a great improvement but maybe take your old camera into a store and check the flash recharge time with the 570 side by side to make sure it is a worthwhile improvement

an idea is to use the same batteries in both cameras
