Have you tried running without afterburner or any other apps running?

I had a problem with BF4 on all my systems requiring me to run it as administrator and shut off origin in game from the origin preferences. Probably not same issue but just one of the many issues with the game.

moonbogg, got home and fooled around with my R9 290s in CF below. The gpu clock is set to 1050 and the memory to 1360. Running real cool (temps @39C) during load.

I ran Shanghai server with 64 in it at 2560 x 1440 ultra setting and fps varied from a low of 80 to a high of 140 but most fps hovered around 115!

Gameplay is smooth as silk and TONS of fun. Hope this helps.

Geez, can't complain about performance like that. I guess testing 1080p would be pretty silly, lol. Thanks man. If I grab a 290 I'll be good to go at 1080p.

When I had .dll errors it was hardware related. Have your cards always had these errors?

First, make sure you disable Origin In Game. It hates MSI Afterburner.

Second, uninstall your graphics driver with Display Driver Uninstaller, shutdown, and take out your bottom 670. Reinstall the driver with the single card. Reboot back in to windows. Load a game to make sure the driver loaded properly. Cut computer off...then reisntall the second gpu and then select sli (no need to reinstall the driver...it will recognize the 2nd gpu and auto-install it upon loading).

BF4 was giving me fits until I did that. Due to the constant crashes, the driver would not uninstall/reinstall properly so the only way to get the driver to install right was to install one card at a time.

But, yes...I agree....EA needs to be cawk punched with a sledge hammer for their crappy coding.

Quick question, was that with running Mantle or DX11?
BTW have you run both Mantle and DX 11 per above BF4 MP SOS and compared the FPS difference?

FastX it was with Mantle but I'll run DX11 tonight ( work calls). I'll try to collect data. I have a licensed version of Fraps but I don't seem to get it to work with BF4.

Can someone guide me through the logging process of fps for BF4? Thank you.

It's actually complicated - I don't believe FRAPS is compatible with Mantle. Will work if using DX11, though.

Shanghai wasn't available but I played @10 minutes of a 64 server in the gardens with DX11 and settings below running 2560 x 1440p

Min 0 max 201fps Average 101.2fps

I played dealbraker 64 server and at 1920x1080 Min1 Max 195 but average 119fps.

Hope this gives an idea of the power. BTW my r( 290s are at 1055core, 1375 mem with the rest of the specs below.
