take it out and put a new one in. I've never done it on an 84 corrolla, but changing headlights isn't any harder than changing a lightbulb in your house.

Too slow, I gotta go!

Mwa ha ha ha!!!!

(In the US, it's a sealed beam. Those are held in place by a metal ring (attached by 3 or 4 screws) around the front of the headlight glass.)

EDIT: You're on the right track. You might need to remove the plastic bezel to get at the bottom screws. If you still have the owners manual, it probably has instructions.

wow... that was my first car.

I remember replacing the headlight... just start unscrewing things until there's enough space to squeeze the light out. I remember it being a pain. And make sure you adjust the beam afterwards so you're not one of those morons blinding everyone around you.

There are four philip head screws holding the retaining ring, remove these and the ring and withdraw the headlamp and carefully pull of the three prong connector, installation is reverse of removal.

Only if you live in the Soviet Union.
Sealed Beam Headlights cost $8 where I live.

I had an 82 corolla, and as usual, Roger is right.

Had to replace two of them on trip back from Alaska, lost both of them to rocks. In December.....both at the same time... brrrr.. Someplace out in the Canadian plains, never been as cold in my life..
