Replace 1155 board with...? Needing 2 eSATA...

Currently have an MSI P67A-GD53 and have not really had any issues with it... Very stable and problem free with a 2600K @4.6Ghz 1.312 volts... But find I am using my external HD dock (StarTech dual 2.5/3.5 dock) which is currently connected via USB cable but this of course is slow but it also has 2 eSATA cables for both drive docks so would like the speed of the SATA connection... Not really concerned about it being SATA III but more important is the 2 eSATA ports...

Of course looking a Z68 board but would like to hear recommendations...

Or would it be better to just keep the current board and get a controller card with external ports...? (cheap arse)😀

Yea thinking about going that way and spend the left over $$$ on a new ATI 7850-7870 possibly...? Damn 79XX cards are like stupid in cost...?

Dem mods iz ruff over dare...😱 (mild attempt at a cajun accent)😀

Would consider one but just got rid of two of them (6950HD's 2gig w/shader mods on both) a while back...:\ Now have the itch to play a couple of newer games and want newer tech too...

Bartman, I just so happen to have one of these chilling on my desk. Any use to you?

Those look like regular SATA, only external. Not eSATA.

Could be. It was given to me with a bunch of parts. I am not sure as I have no documentation. Seems to be pulled from a Gigabyte board. Gillbot has it as of now so maybe he can tell us what it does 😀

Even if those internal ports connect to the header on the mobo, its kind of neat that the external can provide power to a harddrive outside of the computer.

Looks like sata to me as well, and is exactly what I wanted. That way I can leave it hooked up to a sata internal port but can power up and test a HDD without opening the case. THANKS!

Glad it worked out for you  Thanks for the heat, I left some for you too.

I just like having the port available to test HDD's. Makes it easier than opening the case all the time. I have a dock too, but it's a PIA to dig it all out, hook up a power brick and etc.
