I saw this posted at the end of the office depot thread and didnt see a new thread started yet.
$99.xx - 50 MIR - $20 coupon.

I have a question though, does staples still give rebate if you use coupon

"Offer not valid with any other rebates, offers or promotions. Offer valid in US only. Good for actual purchases by end...."

For those like me who don't recognize the model number, it is a Canon photo printer capable of borderless printing. link

I wonder if this is better than my HP. Oh well seems like a good deal off to find some reviews.

Good reviews at Amazon. link

I believe the rebate is offered by Canon, not by Staples...OD had the same deal last week...which i snatched up...the rebate form was from Canon...

Thanks OP. Out shopping B&M's today. Think I'll pick one up.
Seems like a good deal for $30.00 + tax on $100.00, $8.80 for me.
$38.80 dosen't even replace the cartridges in my Lexmark.
Decent reviews @ Cnet too!
Here is a link to Cnet review------Link

It's a Staples rebate according to the paper ad. You usually receive Staples paid rebates in 3 weeks.

Don't forget that there is a 12% off customer appreciation coupon this weekend. You might be able to stack it with the $20 off coupon. Depends on the folks at your Staples B&M.

I plan to pick this up along with the Buslink DVD burner.

You can find very cheap generic cartidges for this printer. By cheap I mean about $2 for either a color or black ink-tank. By comparison, finding cheap cartridges for HP is more difficult. So buying ink for the HP might cost ten times or more over the cost of the Canon ink. On the other hand, the HP cartridges will last longer and you get a new printhead with each cartridge purchase. The Canon requires more vigilance with head cleaning and stuff like that, but for $50, it is kind of throw-away printer anyway. I would go with cheap generic cartridges and save a ton of money. For me personally, it is really hard to stomach paying $50 to replace both black and color cartridges on something like the HP. With the Canon, this will cost about $5.

Fwiw I used some generic cartridges in my bjc6000 and I got about 10 pages out of them until I got a print head error. Maybe bad luck or just coincidence but I blame the tanks. Speaking of which who needs some unused ink.....

I've used dirt cheap generics with my Epson 880 for literally years without problem. Three people in my family have used generic cartridges with their cheap Canon printers for the past year with no problems. The thing to remember with printers like the Epson and Canon is to regularly check the nozzles and clean the printheads. You don't want these printers to run dry as the heads will clog. Also after changing ink, run a nozzle check.

Since this is a $50 after rebate printer, do you really want to spend $30 everytime it runs out of ink, which is going to be darn fast with these Canons? Wouldn't you rather take your chances with generic for $3 and maybe get a couple of years out of the printer?

Heh calm down man ;) I'm sure its not everyones experience, just sharing mine. Fwiw when I opened the page at staples it shows the black for $6.65 so yeah I'd probably actually consider spending $6 instead of $2 on a cartridge next time myself.

You have to remember that the typical HP 5000 series uses a cartridge that prints 3X the number of pages. So, $6.65 X 3 = $19.95(which is what an HP black costs). As I mentioned in the other discussion, this printer is economical to use only if you use the cheapest generics. If you require decent generics($3-$5) and you print frequently, the Canon i560 probably will cost less in the long run.

Dammit...I can never catch these deals. Ordered one this morning, went to look for a coupon...found a $20 off $100 that expired 12/14, but figured what the heck, see if it'll take. Added some rubber bands for 89 cents to get order over $100. Went to checkout, applied to coupon - IT WORKED! - I'm all happy, all set to get my nice new printer for $30 after rebate...check my order status just now (2 hours after ordering)...now the printer shows as unavailable!!! I have to call and cancel the rubber bands too - sheesh.

Did anyone order the Canon s530D Photo Printer from OfficeMax? It's the killer deal printer... 250MSRP printer for 100 - 50 rebate = 50 net cost, with memory card slots and LCD, but OOS. Mine was ordered a few days ago but still shows as CBO as order status.

Could anyone also tell me if the Epson C42 is a decent printer to order for 39.99 from OfficeMax, no rebates. Dual ink tank and decent resolution. Some area already shows as CBO, some still available.

Oh well. Paid $47 for mine at Fry's Thanksgiving weekend. Prints beautiful photos. I now use my Epson 880 strictly for text stuff like homework, etc. Last weekend BB had a sale where you buy 2 Canon cartridges and get 120 sheets of 4x6 Canon photo paper free. Only paid like $17 for both cartridges, but it saved me $25 on the paper.
