Repairing NTFS partitions on an external drive

Thats the bad news. The really bad news is that there is 210GB of data on the external drive and I've got approx 180GB of space on internal drives to back it up to. Either be backing up to DVDs or reDLing some things.

Having said the above, and since Maxtor doesn't offer any diagnostic programs for their external drives, are there any 3rd Party utilities that can scan/repair the partitions of an external USB2 drive, 250GB?

I used Testdisk to recover an ntfs partition on my usb2.0 external drive.
