Repairing msdos.sys

I have a feeling I might just be suffering brain blockage but can I repair a bad msdos.sys(boot message)or alternately replace it in a simple manner.

I have not found a problem yet other than the annoying boot message saying damaged or invalid msdos.sys

I would greatly appreciate any advice

You could boot from a floppy and then SYS C:

many thanks for the advice zetter but are you sure simply typing in sys c: and replacing the file will not require reloading all my devices etc ?

Randomly modifying the msdos.sys sounds very dodgy to me
