Now since i know why my motherboard doesnt work. Any way I can fix 2 traces on my motherboard. They trace to my dimm slots and my MB wont detect any ram. The break is only about 2 mm and the distance between the 2 traces is about 1/2 mm.

My friend had a mishap with a screw driver and his motherboard. He soldered the traces , and had an ugly mess of wires. This was several years ago though, and he was an expert at stuff like this. Motherboards are much more cramped now, so it will probably be a little more difficult than it was for him. Worth a shot though.

well, i don't know what you should use for the trace itself...but i used to repair partially cut traces by simply filling the cut with clear nailpolish...protects the exposed trace

of course, you still have to find a way to connect it though...

Sohcrates dude, that's an awesome idea! I've never thought about doing something like that, but it's probably a heck of alot easier.

You can buy tracer repair kits at some higher end electronics stores (The specialty ones, not like radio shack...although you could try there too). I don't know if its worth it for you, and I am not sure how well a conductave pen is going to work.

If you do decide to use a conductive pen, then be SURE to mask the rest of the board (with something like scotch tape) around your spot. Don't wana realy mess anything up ;)
