I am building a new music production/video editing machine. I am moving the hard drives from my previous machine (ASUS P5B, e6600) to my new machine (Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L, Q6600).

The problem is I have a fair amount of software that I don't want to have to re-install. I have my software installed on a separate partition from the windows partition. Is there any way I can re-install XP and keep all of the software registered (okay in the registry)? Or does this warrant a format and re-installation?

Also, my previous install of XP, I nLite'd a bunch of the services and other stuff out and I regret doing it. I want to get those things back. Is it possible to install/repair XP to get those things back and keep all of the software installed and kosher in the registry?

Thanks,
JOe K.
