Repair Headset Inline Volume Switch

I've got a Sennheiser headset on my computer; they are an older model but work fine except for the inline volume control. At the low end of the rotary control, the sound cuts out in the right headphone. I suspect the volume control is either worn out or damaged and needs to be repaired or replaced. The plastic inline switch housing looks like two halves glued together so disassembly might be the hardest part.

I'll probably try and fix it anyway, but I though I'd see if anybody had done this.
