I've had my wireless card for awhile now, and all of a sudden it will not let me repair or disable the wirless connection, nor disable my LAN either. I have to go through the device manager to disable them. long story short, I used to be able to switch between the 2 for trying to get better speed. now i get the error while repairing "windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: disabling the wireless network adapter. make sure your network adapter is properly installed." and when disabling "it is not possible to disable the connection at this time. this connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support plug-and-play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account."

but like I said, it worked fine and then one day started giving me these errors. I have searched and searched, but to no avail. i've tried switching my wireless card pci slot, reinstalling network card, and am out of ideas.

WHat did you change when it stopped working? New settings/hardware/software/updates?

Have you done the standard Virus scans and spyware scans?

Did you played around with Windows Services?

Make sure that all the services that are related to the Network aspect of Windows are set correctly.

The ping tool is a good tool to find out whether there is a connection, but it would not tell you what is need to be configured.

In General you can debug the Network Setting of the computer following these steps.[/

Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer?s Device Manager. Make sure that the drivers are installed correctly; there is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost

Step Two. Verify Basic network setting in the OS: http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify
If the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but functionally it does not work.

Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet
If need to Reinstall; Log to this page it have a lot of links to instructions for Windows Network Installation - http://www.ezlan.net/Installing.html
