This law is GENIUS! Make these devices illegal so that law-abiding murderers will choose never to own one. After all, that would be illegal. Murderers (especially the gentle and mannerly cop killers) are well known for not doing illegal things. I wish I could be as smart as our politicians.

Only a Dumbocrat would use reasoning that not allowing ME...a law abiding citizen...to have body armor is somehow going to keep CRIMINALS from using it. BS, we know what this is really all about. Fuck him anyway, if I already have it do you really think I'm gonna give it up when it's not something I use regularly anyway? What an idiot.

How many FBI and ATF agents ended up at the end of that "sting"?

Lol the irony.

The BATFE guys did their job, meticulously documenting all they found out, turned it over to the pro-gun US Attorney for the region, who refused to issue warrants or prosecute until a Border Agent was killed. He was forced to resign, obviously.

That's the real story of Fast & Furious. It's also why all but the most tarded of tards dropped it like a white hot rock a long time ago. It's the stupidest scandal Issa ever concocted.

Let me see if I get this straight:

Banning armer because only criminals use it even though the instances of that happening is low = stupid and a potential slippery slope.

Voter ID laws that don't address real voter ID fraud and only address a type of fraud that happens less than .00001% but has the ability to negatively affect 1000's of legitimate voters = good.

Gun laws that try and prevent people who shouldn't have a gun from getting a gun or ban certain types of guns but those same laws may make it harder for legitimate gun users to obtain guns or exercise their constitutional rights = bad.

But laws making it harder for women to access women's health services including their constitutionally protected right of having an abortion = good.

I'm just trying to understand the rights logic here.

And yes you could easily point to similar logical contradictions from the left. The difference in my opinion, is that the right tends to hold the same views pretty consistently, so much so that their platform (as in the republican platform) specifically states such views. These views are so consistent that you have politicians proclaiming, publicly just how extreme they are willing to go to turn their views into legislation.

So what's the reasoning and how are these contradicting reasoning justified?

Just a question: how exactly do we estimate the number of voter impersonations that happen? People keep throwing around that 31 number, but what exactly does that represent? 31 people were caught? Can't be that hard to not get caught, they don't even require an ID...

God bless him...

"We should be asking ourselves, why is this armor available to just anyone, if it was designed to be used only by our solders to take to war?" Honda said.

Designed only for soldiers going to war.

"It would ensure that only law enforcement, firefighters and other first responders would be able to access enhanced body armor."

Make sure that firefighters and police can buy it.

Or Patrio-tards think they'll want body armor when they start the revolution. Or because it has to do with guns, and everybody knows that anything having anything to do with guns is sacred.

Does body armor fit over a beer belly?

Cuts both ways:

Laws that ban certain types of guns=good.

Laws that ban certain types of abortions=bad.

So by that logic you're ok with waiting 3 days to get your gun after going to the only gun store in the state?

As for a ban on body armor I don't really see the point. The current risk certainly doesn't justify the cost.

And by that logic you're OK with no gun control laws, that everything is between a buyer and his FFL?

As for a ban on body armor, we don't ban things for being cost inefficient. If we start I guess there are a metric ton of gaming PCs on that should be rounded up first.

There is no enumerated right to body armor period. But a proposal to ban it is stupid nonetheless.

I'm pro gun and have many, this is just stupidity.

Hell, I had a buddy of mine in the 80's got some of a state trooper he wasn't supposed to have.

If you really need to get it, it's like an illegal weapon, there is enough of it floating around you could just buy it anyways I imagine.

Actually where is the "enumerated" right of government to deny someone from simply protecting themselves without harming anyone else?

I can understand people wanting to ban stuff that could theoretically be used for crime, but that's a really big slippery slope to go down. The next logical step would be to ban rifles and shotguns because they blow through body armor like it's not even there.

According to wikipedia, those 2 guys were the only people who died during that incident. That's fairly impressive. It ended quickly too. It went on for less than an hour, and it usually takes 59 minutes for the police to respond to a 911 call.

The idea is to make it more difficult to carry out a crime. Most people are extremely lazy, so even the most basic roadblocks will stop things from happening. That 2012 voter ID thing is a great example. Democrats were saying millions of people would be unable to vote if photo ID was required for voting, and they were probably right. Are people so retarded that they don't have the ID required to open a bank account or get a job? Probably. Putting the same restrictions on gun purchases might make it difficult for profoundly stupid people to obtain weapons. You'll never stop the people who are cold and calculating, like those hollywood shootout guys, but simple barriers might deter the more lazy criminals. One can look at Canada to see how this works. Most people think pistols are illegal in Canada, but that's not true. All you need to do is take a course on pistol safety, fill out a form, wait a month or two, and you can buy as many as you want. How many people actually do it? Very few. This is why Canada doesn't have many shootouts.

What shotgun blows through body armor?

I wonder if he's selling body armor out of the back of a truck and just trying to protect his business. It wasn't that long ago that Leland Yee was busted, after all.

Yes as I stated however the degree to which the contradiction happens isn't even close. Your example doesn't apply to me so...
