I was referring to Gatlinburg, ever been there? Sure there are areas with no development adjacent to the park. many beautiful areas. Tennessee has some great state parks as well.

Also I live south of he Mason Dixon line.

You're pointing out a sliver of Sevier County and saying "all East TN is ugly and gray"? You're such a troll.

Regardless of where you are now (too many yankees live south of the M-D), I'm simply glad it isn't here.

(but that's only from a sporting view of things)

I verbally took the reporter to task and told him off, because I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect, especially when I go out of my way to do that reporter a favor.

Yeah and I sorta expect a certain amount of professionalism and respect from elected officials, at least enough to not threaten to throw a law abiding person off a balcony..... Yeah I know, way to much of an expectation for a politician but it would be nice.

The New Yorker had a piece which discussed some of Grimm's work while an FBI agent, and it was not flattering.

This guy seems like a complete jerk. So of course he's in Congress.

On July 10, 1999, Williams said, he was working off duty at Caribbean Tropics. Shortly after midnight, Michael Grimm walked in with a woman of Caribbean descent. The woman’s estranged husband, who is also of Caribbean descent, was at the club and confronted Grimm. The two men began to argue. Williams escorted Grimm away. Williams recalled, “He said to me, ‘Thanks a lot man, he don’t know who he’s fucking with.’ Then he said something frightening. ‘I’ll fuckin’ make him disappear where nobody will find him.’ ” (Grimm calls this allegation “insane.”) After that, Williams said, Grimm and the woman left, as did the husband.

Around 2:30 a.m., there was a commotion on the dance floor. According to Williams, somebody was shouting, “He’s got a gun!” Following a crowd into the club’s garage, Williams discovered that Grimm and the husband had returned, and Grimm was holding a weapon. Grimm was “carrying on like a madman,” Williams said. “He’s screaming, ‘I’m gonna fuckin’ kill him.’ So I said to him, ‘Who are you?’ He put the gun back in his waist and said, ‘I’m a fucking F.B.I. agent, ain’t nobody gonna threaten me.’ ” (Grimm said he only moved his gun from an ankle holster to his waistband.) The bouncer at the front door told Williams that, when he patted Grimm down and found his gun, Grimm had showed his F.B.I. identification. The bouncer then let him pass through the club’s metal detector.

Interesting that he was accused of threatening to kill someone previously and called that allegation insane.

Thanks for the article. Great, although depressing read.

News Link on "Charges might be filed against Grimm"

"Law enforcement officials are discussing a possible criminal charge against Rep. Michael Grimm, R-N.Y., after his infamous confrontation with a reporter Tuesday night.."

" ...the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of the Columbia is conferring on the matter with law enforcement, a discussion fueled in part by the fact this occurred on federal property. The D.C. statute in question pertains to "threatening to do bodily harm."

Just another example of the Obama administration's abuse of the law at work, Republicans should be able to threaten the lives of other people without recourse. Hell, Republicans should be able to murder people without facing criminal charges! :D
