Renting car from Los Angeles to Vegas..

What would be my best choice in terms of a company for a Thursday morning to Friday night Vegas trip?

I'm only 21, and basically want to get something better than my decade plus old Integra that'll make for a fun ride..

Hop a plane. Why do you need to spend 5 hrs on the road each way to donate here.

Unless you need to drive around, it will be about the same cost as a rental/gas & charges plus less wear & tear on you.

Unless you drive slower than a VW Eurovan, it most definitely does not take 5 hours to get to Vegas.

Having lived in Los Angeles for 8 years now, and having done the LA-Vegas drive at least 40 times, I can assure you that it takes almost the same amount of time to fly as it does to drive. Why?

1) The drive from UCLA (which is on the far western edge of Los Angeles) takes about 3.5 hours.

2) The flight from Los Angeles to Vegas takes 1 hour.

3) Add drive time from home to the airport = 1 hour.

4) Add parking/check-in/boarding time = 1 hour.

5) Add deboarding + luggage + taxi = at least 0.5 hour.

Overall, same travel time. Plus now I have my car with me in Vegas.

Just go and get a big car. I rented the Grand Prix and that was one fast car. It seemed well built too. I've also rented a Chrysler 300C and that was sweet too.

Crown Vic,or Mercury Grand Marquis.

I took a road trip of over 2,000 miles a year ago in a 97 Crown Vic,and
it got 24-28 mpg,and was a Smooth ride.Very comfortable road trip car.
I got better fuel mileage with premium gas,and under 75mph.
{72 seemed perfect with the cruise control.}
